Here is a game that allows you to practice comparing fractions. You'll need to make the denominators equal to do this accurately. Remember to use multiplying top and bottom numbers by the same thing to make the denominators the same.

Homework Free Weekend

As year 6 have had such a busy week and have worked so hard on the Advent Fayre; Mr Baker and I have decided not to give you any written homework for the weekend. You are however, expected to learn your lines for the Nativity Play and ensure that all reading is completed - we also encourage you to be familiar with the story of "A Christmas Carol."

There will however be some work available to print-off or links to play for Mr Kelly's Lit and Maths group.

Have a good weekend

Mr Kelly

Mr Baker says "Science is Simple!"

With a bit of thought, most scientific ideas make sense. A good website that makes science topics easy to learn and remember is the Simple Science site. Here is a link:

Just select Year 6 and the topic you want to learn about.

Dragons' Den?

Year Six are running the Advent Fayre again on Friday 26th November. As already stated in last week's letter, this is to give the children the chance to run an event and its finances. Many games and entertainments (with prize winning opportunities) have been organised for all the children in the school to try for an entrance cost of just £1.50 per family (price decided by the chilren in Year Six).
The children also wondered about seeking sponsorship to make sure we do not make a loss. The decision was made to visit local businesses to make Dragons' Den style pitches. At this time many businesses contacted were not able to accomodate this, but three were willing.
Monday - Co-op Travel
Tuesday - Lloyds Bank
Thursday - Iceland Foods Ltd
We wish our young entreprenears all the best this week!
