Next week in literacy we will begin our work on Persuasion. What does it mean? Will your letter persuade your teachers?

Sketching

 

We have been sketching what we can see in our local environment. We have looked at both man-made and naturally occurring features.

 

 

 

 

We will be using these sketches and our focus on texture in our work on landscapes.

Well Done Year 6!

Well done to all the Year 6 children and all members of staff for our fantastic retreat to Alton Castle. We learnt a huge amount about our theme 'Discipleship'. We will be sharing our favourite experiences when we are back in school.
Our Alton Castle assembly will be on Wednesday.

This week we are going on our Residential!

We will be setting off on our retreat to Alton Castle on Monday morning. Please include everything on your kit list.

We return on Wednesday evening. On Thursday we will spend the day considering the word 'disciple'. What makes you a disciple of Christ? How did our retreat help your faith journey?
We will also be preparing our Alton Castle assembly.

Well done Year 6 for a great first week back!  Very well done to all the children who took part in the sports event today. In addition, congratulations to Kolby and James who attended the first ‘tea with Mrs G’.

Next week we have a busy and action-packed week!

On Monday afternoon we are leading the liturgy at our first school mass of the year.

On Tuesday we will have a class council meeting about the Year of Saints. Who shall we pick as our class saints?

On Thursday it is the Year 6 Inspire workshop. This will be about the year ahead, preparing for Confirmation, transition to secondary school and reading tips. We hope that you all have a grown up to attend with you!

We will also be preparing for our retreat to Alton Castle on 16^th – 18^th September.

In LITERACY we will be using our persuasive techniques in persuasive writing.

In MATHS we will continue using positive and negative numbers in word problems. You could use this link to help you!
