WORLD BOOK DAY

On Thursday 5th March we will be celebrating World Book Day at Holy Souls.



The Theme for Holy Souls is PIRATES!



We have a lot of fun things planned for thursday - hope you enjoy it!

Literacy this week

We will be contiuing our work on narrative writng - Hope you have enjoyed it so far. Your stories before half term were of a very high standard - well done!



Top Tip:- Use a range of Alan Peat sentences witihin your story.

Maths - fractions problem solving

At the beginning of the week we are going to use our fraction knowledge to help us to work out word problems based upon them. We will then move on to percentages.

Ash Wednesday


Don't Forget that tomorrow is Ash Wednesday.

This marks the beginning of the Season of Lent.

It is a Holy Day of Obligation and we receive ashes on our forehead from the palms on Palm Sunday.

RE Half Term Homework


RE Half Term Homework – The Beatitudes

Below is a copy of the Beatitudes. We have discussed their meaning in class. For homework we would like you to create your own set of Beatitudes for Christians today.




Your Beatitudes can be either handwritten or word processed. It is due in on Wednesday 25th February. This work will be stuck into your RE books so it must be of a very high standard.

Having spent last week looking at settings, next week we will be looking at writing an outstanding character description. What fab up-levelled sentence techniques can you remember? Have a think over half term!
