A spooky start to our Literacy

Beware of our Literacy lessons this week, they may get spooky!!!
We are going to be focusing on persuasive texts.
What does persuasive mean?
 What persuasive texts can you name?
Can you remember the key features of a persuasive piece of writing?
 A lot of things to think about and bring to our lessons next week.
 Remember it is going to be spooky!!!

Coming up in Maths

You've guessed it we are going to be looking at efficient methods of multiplication and then putting them into real life situations. In order to achieve success you MUST know your tables at speed. Get leaning!!

Discipleship at Alton Castle

In RE this week we will be looking back at our time at Alton Castle. Our theme was based on DISCIPLESHIP.
What qualities does a disciple of Christ have?
Did you witness any discipleship qualities in others or even yourself?
You will be given time to discuss and record your findings this week.

In RE next week and in Literacy we will reflect on what we learnt about at Alton Castle. What do you need to be a great disciple of Christ?

We will be writing recounts about this special retreat and also letters of thanks. What have you got to be thankful for?

Well done Year 6

Well done to all the Year 6 children and all members of staff for our fantastic retreat to Alton Castle. We learnt a huge amount about Discipleship, the Beatitudes and ourselves. We will be sharing our favourite experiences when we are back in school.
Our Alton Castle assembly will be on Wednesday 14th October

We will be setting off on our retreat to Alton Castle on Wednesday morning. Please include everything on your kit list.

We return on Friday evening.


From Monday 21st  we will spend the day considering the word 'disciple'. What makes you a disciple of Christ? How did our retreat help your faith journey?

In our RE...

Next week we have a busy and action-packed week!

On Monday afternoon we are leading the liturgy at our first school mass of the year. WE THEN HAVE AN IMPORTANT PARENTS' BRIEFING AFTER THIS AT 3:15PM IN THE HALL,

On Tuesday we will have an assembly about class councils meetings.

We will also be preparing for our retreat to Alton Castle on 16^th – 18^th September.
